Session Summaries
Summary of April 6th to 9th session
This session dealt primarily with monetary issues, and significant progress was made in these areas.
Discussions will continue at the next session, which begins April 20th, 2009.
Summary of March 4th to 6th session
The parties continued their discussions on Appendix A9 – Aurora College Instructors. Significant progress was made and much of Appendix A9 has been agreed to.
The parties began discussions on their monetary proposals. These discussions will continue at the next session, which begins April 6th, 2009.
Summary of February 23rd to 27th session
UNW and GNWT bargaining teams met from February 23rd to 27th, 2009. This session focused primarily on changes to Appendix A9 of the collective agreement, the provisions that deal specifically with Aurora College instructors. Agreement has been reached on most of the proposed changes to A9, although some issues remain outstanding.
During this negotiating session, agreement was also reached on some clauses related to Safety and Health. These clauses, as well as a number of previously agreed to items, have been signed off and are posted here.
The GNWT tabled proposals on February 24th and February 25th as well as two proposals on February 26th - all four proposals are available on the Human Resources website at www.hr.gov.nt.ca under Collective Bargaining Update.
On February 27th the UNW tabled a monetary proposal. It is posted here under Follow Up Proposals.
