Viewing Leave Balances
- Sign on to Self Service
- Enter User ID and password.
The User ID is your firstname.lastname (use all lowercase letters). Ensure you use the name you registered with in the Self Service system. When signing on for the first time, your password will be your 6-digit Employee ID Number, plus the first three digits of your Social Insurance Number.

Your password is case sensitive. (If you’ve created a password in all CAPS, the system will not let you in if you enter the password in lowercase letters.) |

As a security feature, if you enter the wrong User ID or Password five times, the system will automatically lock you out and you will have to call the HR Helpdesk to reset your security password. |

- A main menu will appear with a list of different functions you can use on Self Service.
Important news and time entry cut offs will be posted.

- Click Manager Self Service
- Click Timesheet under Report Time

- Enter the Employee’s ID # and Click

- The balances are found on the bottom of the Timesheet.

Plan Type (from screenshot above)The sick leave balance above includes the employee’s carry over from the previous fiscal year plus any earned and taken to date.
The special leave balance includes the employee’s carry over from the previous fiscal year plus any earned and taken to date.
How Balances Update:
Sick and special leave balances will update as the employee enters leave. For example, if they request future dated leave on their Timesheet, once they click Submit, the balance will updated immediately.
If you deny a leave request, the denied hours will return to their leave bank and their balance will be updated immediately.
