UNW Collective Agreement

COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
UNION OF NORTHERN WORKERS'
AND
THE MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PUBLIC SERVICE

A Collective Agreement was officially signed between the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the Union of Northern Workers' (UNW) on August 2, 2005. This is a four-year agreement expiring March 31, 2009. Salary increases for 2005/06 are effective
April 1, 2005. All other changes are effective August 2, 2005 unless otherwise noted.

This includes changes to various forms of Leave, Shift Premiums, Acting Pay, and Mandatory Leave; as well as new provisions for Midwives and Relief employees.

The pay grids were retroactive to April 1, 2005. Changes to the Northern Allowance will commence effective April 1, 2006.
